Dayshift : Dayshift shows consist of mostly alternative music and emphasize variety. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, budding KSUA DJs will spin brand-new music from our playlist in addition to their favorites. Listen to KSUA during these times to hear new releases from every genre.

Specialty : Specialty shows focus on one specific genre or theme. DJs who have had at least one prior semester's worth of experience during the Dayshift are allowed to create a show specific to a certain format--whether it be as simple as all music within a certain genre, or as obscure as all music released by French new wave groups from the 1980s with palindromic band names. These shows exemplify KSUA's long-standing tradition of alternative programming; some have been airing on KSUA since the last millenium. During Safe Harbor hours, from 11pm-5am nightly, DJs have the option of playing material considered indecent by the FCC--songs that, in the words of one former Production Director, may contain naughty words such as f---, s---, or Belgium. The FCC has a helpful page explaining obscene and indecent broadcasts.

Syndicated : Syndicated shows are produced by other stations or groups and aired on KSUA. Currently, these include Pacifica's Democracy Now! and Free Speech Radio News, the independently produced alternative music program e-town, the BBC produced science radio programme The Naked Scientists, as well as the independently produced weekly science/technology news show This Week In Science. If you or your producing body are interested in airing your syndicated material on KSUA, contact the Program Director at (907)474-7054.
